In another step towards inclusivity and wider embrace of the city’s diversity, Whittier’s leaders unanimously approved the City’s first gay pride festival.

The event, scheduled for September 28 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Central Park, will be largely underwritten by funding and services provided by Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn’s office. The family-friendly festival will feature food trucks, live entertainment, vendors, games, and activities.
